Uploading Files

Introduction

Uploading files to Lockb0x is a straightforward process. This guide will walk you through the steps to upload and encrypt your files, ensuring that they are securely stored on IPFS.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Select the (+) “Upload File” button from your dashboard.
  2. Choose the file you want to upload from your device. No file? Take a photo, video or create a document directly on the upload page.
  3. Add Metadata (required fields: title, description and author)
  4. Add Private Key (required to encrypt file)
  5. The file will be encrypted using AES-GCM and uploaded to IPFS.
  6. After the upload is complete, you'll receive a unique CID (address) for the file.

File Management

Once your files are uploaded, you can manage them directly from your Lockb0x dashboard. This includes decrypting and viewing file details, CIDs, private notes, and a files unencrypted metatdata.
